What's Really In that: Waso Color Correcting by Sisheido

What's Really In that: Waso Color Correcting by Sisheido

This product is all over TikTok, marketed as a simple way to color correct and look more put together in one easy step. And while this product truly does what is says, it contains Octinoxate (used in sunscreens), a chemical proven by the UN to impact and negatively affect your endocrine system and the hormones it releases. (see here for more info)

On top of using an ingredient deemed toxic by the UN, Shiseido is a Japanese company but some of the ingredients used in these products are also banned or regulated in Japan.

Shiseido is not the only company that changes up its ingredients when marketing to the USA. Harmful chemicals can be cheaper than clean alternatives. For example, Phenoxyethanol, also in Waso, is restricted in substances in Japan as it is thought to cause infertility and be toxic to infants.
